ACM CONSULTING TEAM

We are thoughtful planners who care about social good. Our passion is for supporting nonprofits, philanthropy and all organizations in leveraging events and meetings to advance their missions and achieve impact. With combined 25+ years of experience in meeting design, convening strategy, training development, communications, event fundraising and community engagement across the social sector we bring a belief in transformative experiences, a love of events and our expertise to every project that we work on.

ACM Consulting collaborates with a number of event partners, senior consultants and project managers to expand the capacity of our team on any given project or event. We have the tools and resources to meet locally or collaborate remotely as well as maintain a vast network of skilled event professionals throughout the country to provide onsite support for events. 

Amber cruz mohring

Amber Cruz Mohring is the owner of ACM Consulting, an independent consultant working at the intersection of event production and convening strategy.  Prior to starting her own consulting business, Amber gained ten years of experience in event coordination, program development and nonprofit management through programmatic and executive leadership roles.  The common thread throughout her career has been a focus on bringing people together to make an impact.

Most recently Cruz Mohring was the Interim Co-Executive Director of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) which activates emerging leaders by connecting them with resources, people, and ideas to build a more diverse and powerful social sector. While at YNPN Amber led the fundraising operations and communications strategy as well as planned their 2016 Annual Conference. Prior to that Amber was the Senior Strategy Officer for Convenings at Lumina Foundation, the nation’s largest private foundation focused solely on increasing Americans’ success in higher education. She worked to design, implement and lead convenings in support of Lumina’s strategies and mobilization efforts. 

Before joining Lumina Foundation, Cruz Mohring was the Director of Programs for Mobilize.org where she developed and managed their national Millennial civic engagement and social entrepreneurship work, including summits, funded fellowships and leadership development programs.  Previously, Amber also worked in development for a non-profit, managing their events and PAC contributions. Cruz Mohring grew up in the Pacific Northwest where she gained three years of event planning experience at a private event planning company in Oregon. In 2008, she worked as a field organizer for the successful campaign to elect United States Senator Jeff Merkley.

Cruz Mohring holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics from Willamette University in Oregon and a Master of Public Affairs in Nonprofit Management at the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs. Amber has held numerous advisory and board of director positions with the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network, Independent Sector Conference, Young Invincibles Advisors and Giving+Sum. She currently resides in Portland, Oregon with her husband William, their son Cruz and their daughter Rose.
