skills and experience
I’m a thoughtful planner who cares about social good. My passion is for supporting nonprofits, philanthropy and all organizations in leveraging events and meetings to advance their missions and achieve impact. With ten years of experience in meeting design, convening strategy, training development, communications, event fundraising and community engagement across the social sector I bring my belief in transformative experiences, my love of events and my expertise to every project that I work on.
Amber Cruz Mohring is the owner of ACM Consulting, an independent consultant working at the intersection of event production and convening strategy. Prior to starting her own consulting business, Amber gained ten years of experience in event coordination, program development and nonprofit management through programmatic and executive leadership roles. The common thread throughout her career has been a focus on bringing people together to make an impact.
Most recently Cruz Mohring was the Interim Co-Executive Director of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) which activates emerging leaders by connecting them with resources, people, and ideas to build a more diverse and powerful social sector. Prior to that Amber was the Senior Strategy Officer for Convenings at Lumina Foundation, the nation’s largest private foundation focused solely on increasing Americans’ success in higher education. She worked to design, implement and lead convenings in support of Lumina’s strategies and mobilization efforts.
